Maplelea’s Highland Lass

Tonight I am packing up my four kids and we are heading to Nova Scotia.  We will staying at my parent’s home on the Northumberland Straight for the next month.

This is the beach where the kids and I will be spending  most of our time over the next month.  Although it is very beautiful, my parents have the slowest internet connection available in this century, and very poor cell reception.  Needless to say you won’t be hearing from me much over the next month.  I have enough posts saved so we will still be posting every Tuesday and Thursday, I just won’t be responding to your comments.  Michelle will be around to check in, and is more than happy to answer any questions you might have.  You can also follow us on Instagram, I plan to post photos of our adventures on the East Coast.

In celebration of my much needed trip home, I will do a review of Jenna’s Highland Lass outfit from Maplelea.  This outfit is close to my Scottish heart.

I love this outfit!  My only criticism is that it is missing the kilt pin, and the socks are spandex and not knit like actual highland dancing socks.  Other than those two details every other part of the outfit is second to none!

I am going to leave you now with a beautiful song from Rising Gael.

  1. Jenna’s outfit definitely looks like it would be right at home at the Highland Games! 🙂

As a kid, I spent a few summers on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia, but we spent a fair bit of time on the Northumberland side as well (even though Guysborough was technically closer, we always did our shopping in Antigonish – plus the water is warmer on your side!), so you’ve given me some warm fuzzy nostalgia with your photos.

    Have a great trip!
